For this fictional edition of Computer Arts, I aimed to make me, as a designer, stand out from the rest of the regular issues by implementing popups throughout the magazine.
The front cover popup does not function as a normal popup because it is on the cover. The user has to use his/ her thumb to make the device pop up. This is to represent the idea of user experience/interactivity, which is connected to computers, directly related to the magazine’s theme. The rest pop up when the magazine is opened, with the device popping out from the centre.
These popups are simple, not as the regular child’s book popups, and were incorporated into the content of the magazine. This is not a common practice and is not very economic, which is why this is a limited edition which would be priced differently.
I laid out the content of the magazine true to its energy, using Adobe InDesign. Each article had a theme, so it was important to let the layout match the creative style of the article’s essence.
